The focus in Forest Planning is on applied planning problems in forest companies as well as for private forest owners. The central development areas are how to integregrate biodiversity in the forest planning process, how to use the forest resources to counteract climate change and to improve the effectiveness of the use of information in new planning concepts.
Operations management develops and conveys knowledge and methods for technical and organisational solutions for future forestry with focus on multiple purpose forest use. The research work aims to be top of the line in knowledge development, innovation and creative development in the follwing areas: man at work, machines at work (from establishment of the forest to production of final products, including environmental aspects) and systems and logistics (the menagement of the supply chain and its tools).
