More about Landscape Analysis
Our main task is to perform environmental monitoring on a landscape scale.
We conduct data collection, data processing, analysis, applied science and reporting, all integrated with activities at other sections at the Department of Forest Resource Management.
We collaborate with a number of departments at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, with other universities, and with national and regional authorities and organisations. We also cooperate with other environmental monitoring programs, and participate in international projects.
The work is organised in projects and the office has just over 20 employees with competence in biology, earth science, forest science, informatics, environmental science, and geography. In addition, around ten people outside the department are involved in projects at the section.
Each spring, around 30 field workers are hired to conduct the yearly field inventory. Supplementary data collection is performed continuously through aerial photo interpretation at the office.
