All PhD students at our department are admitted in the subject animal science and can have the profile "nutrition and management". To be admitted as a PhD student you should either apply for an advertised PhD position or be part of a collaboration project with other countries, or the industry. PhD courses
Our department offers the possibility of advanced studies in the subject for a licentiate or PhD. To be accepted for postgraduate studies a MSci in Animal Science including a degree project or other advanced individual work is usually required. Students with other undergraduate degrees can be accepted if they have corresponding competence and a degree project or other individual work at the advanced level.
The licentiate exam comprises 120 HEC (2 years) and a Ph D 240 HEC (4 years). The student will make an individual study plan with the supersvisors. There are great possibilities for interdisciplinary studies.
Postgraduate courses are organized by the department, by other departments at SLU and on other universities in Sweden and the Nordic countries. SLU courses are announced under Postgraduate studies and you can find both basic courses, courses in specific subjects, NOVA courses and NorFA courses.
