Library service for distance students

Loans

To request and borrow books you need to create a library account at the SLU Library. Using our search tool Primo, which covers all the library's printed and digital resources, you can place a loan request from any of the SLU libraries.

As a distance student you can have the loans sent to your home address. Then you pay the return postage fee. You can also request a loan through your local library where you pick up and return your loan without any postage fee

Ordering photocopies

The easiest way to order photocopies is to use our order form. If you can not come to the library to pick up the article in person, you can have it sent to your home address for a fee. See our Price list.

Ordering books from other libraries

If you need books for your studies that are not in the SLU Library collections, we can order them from other libraries and send them to your home address. Use our order form for interlibrary loans, or order a loan directly in Libris.

Please note that it can be both quicker and cheaper to order an interlibrary loan through your local library.

Off-campus access to online resources

As a SLU student you have access to all our online resources like databases, e-books and e-journals from home using the University VPN service. Read more about off-campus access here.
