Edit pdf files with Adobe Acrobat Professional
Delete text
Adobe Acrobat X Pro
- Click "Tools" to open Tools Pane.
- Expand "Content".
- Click "Edit Document Text".
- Select the text to be deleted and press delete.

- Go to Tools > Advanced Editing > TouchUp Text Tool
- Select the text to be deleted and press delete.
Delete text that is part of a larger object
Sometimes it is not possible to remove text, because it is part of a larger object, without removing the whole object. In order to remove part of an object, that part must be converted to a separate object.
Program versions to 9
- Go to Tools > Advanced Editing > TouchUp Reading Order Tool
- A new window is opened. Select the part you want to remove, i.e the part you want to make into a separate object.
- Choose "Background". Close the window.
- Go to Tools > Advanced Editing > TouchUp Object Tool
- Click on the object you want to remove, so that it is selected, and then press delete.
Move and rotate an object, e.g. a page number
Adobe Acrobat X Pro
- Click "Tools" to open Tools Pane.
- Expand "Content".
- Click "Edit Object".
- Click the object that is to be moved and rotated to select it.
- Right Click the object and choose the alternative for rotation.
- Move the object with the mouse or the arrow keys to the desired location.
Delete pages

- Click "Tools" to open Tools Pane.
- Expand "Pages".
- Click Delete.
- Enter the pages to be removed.
- Press OK.

Merge two pdf documents
Adobe Acrobat X Pro
- Open one of the documents.
- Click "Tools" to open Tools Pane.
- Expand "Pages".
- Click "Insert from File".
- Find the document that is to be merged into document 1.
- Decide whether document 2 is to be added before or after the first or last page, or any other page, in document 1.
- Click OK.

Save a part of a pdf document
Adobe Acrobat X Pro
- Open the pdf document containing the pages you want to save.
- Click "Tools" to open Tools Pane.
- Expand "Pages".
- Click "Extract".
- Note the pages you want to extract, i.e. the pages to be saved separately. Mark that the pages are to be extracted to a separate file. (Not to be removed.)
- Save and name the file.
