How to publish a thesis in the Epsilon Open Archive:

1. Register and log in as a user in the Epsilon Open Archive
2. Enter data about your thesis in a web form and upload your thesis in PDF format.

1. Register in Epsilon Open Archive:

You need to have access to your email account before you start to register!

1.  Go to the Open Archive. If necessary, change language by clicking English near the top to the left on the page. Click on Create account

2.  Complete the registration form, giving your full name, a valid e-mail address, then choose a user name and a password. Please note that the Swedish letters å, ä and ö cannot be used. When you have completed the form, click Register.

3.  An automated e-mail message is sent to the given e-mail address. The message contains instructions and a link that you must follow to activate your password. Please note, sometimes automatic generated e-mail can end up in the spam folder.

4.  Follow the link given in the e-mail message in order to activate your password. Now your account is active!

2. Deposit a thesis in Epsilon Open Archive

1. Log on to the Open Archive. If necessary, change language by clicking English near the top to the left on the page.

 2. Click on New item.

3. Select Publication Type Doctoral thesis or Licenciate thesis and click on Next.

 4. Attach file: Click on Browse to find the file you want to upload. Retrieve the file and click on Upload. You can also add more information about the file, for example an embargo period or a Creative Commons license. If you upload more than one file you could add a description, for example “Errata”.  Click on Next.

Please note! The file name should have the format surname_givennameinitial_date and åäö should not be included. Example: hallberg_a_090114.pdf for Åsa Hällberg who deposited her publication in Epsilon on January 14th 2009.

5.  Fill out the form. Required information is marked with a star. Help is available for the different fields within the form. Click on Next.

6.  Subjects – select at least one subject category that describes the content of your publication. You can find sub-categories by clicking on the plus sign to the left of the main categories. Click on Next.

7.  On the last page you can deposit your publication by clicking on Deposit Item Now. If you want to check the information you’ve put into the form, click on Save for Later. If you then want to change something you click on Edit Item, make the changes and deposit the item.

When you have submitted your thesis to the Epsilon publishing system a librarian will edit your entered data, before the electronic publishing. Depending on the current workload, and provided there are no problems, it should appear in the repository within the next few days. If you have questions about this you are welcome to contact us. Please note that we don’t swap files that have already been published.
