Publishing Strategy - visibilty of you and your publications
|
To consider: How you write your personal name – be consistent, consider adding more initials if you have a common name. For double last names use a hyphen. For Scopus, check your author ID and corresponding affiliation ID
Why? If a researcher finds one of your publications and is interested to see your other publications he/she will probably not find all of them if you have several variants or several spellings of your name. Dubble last names without a hyphen e.g. Anders Berg Webber can in the reference databases be registered as Berg, A or Webber, BA .
In Scopus there is an AuthorID that tries to compile all publications by a specific author but the coupling of publications to AuthorID is a machine process and errors do occur. There is a possibilty to send in a correction. It is important for the visibility of you and your research and for inclusion in different bibliometric analyses

To consider: How you write the affiliation – use the correct university address when publishing!
Why? There is a decision by the Vice- Chancellor concerning the name of the university when publishing. Information on this and why it is important It is important for inclusion in different bibliometric analyses (e.g. for allocation of research funds) and for the visibility of you and your research.

To consider How titles and abstracts are written and the choice of keywords
Why? It is Important in order to be easily found when searching in databases. Nowadays many researchers do subjects searches in online resources instead of mainly following table of contents for specific journals but there are researchers that don't have sufficient skill in information retrieval. It is therefore important that you include relevant terms in titles and abstracts and select keywords that is commonly used within your subject. Doing subject searches In reference databases the default is to search within titles, abstract and keywords but there are researchers that restrict their searches and only do the searches within titles.
