Research projects
My current research involves examining interactions between insects and olfactory cues. For this I am using a combination of Drosophila flies and Spodoptera moths. Previously I worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Sussex, UK on Culex mosquito flight behaviours and male-female auditory interactions in swarms. Prior to that I studied Thysanopteran aggregation behaviours at the University of Keele, UK. I wrote my PhD on the aggregation pheromone of the most excellent western flower thrips (Frankliniella occidentalis).
