Genomics
Continuously improved technology has made genomics a rapidly expanding field of science over the past decade, with new whole genome sequences of all kinds of organisms becoming available at close intervals. This is opening all sorts of new doors for studies in molecular and evolutionary biology, genetics, transcriptome analyses et c.
Our department hosts a growing number of projects using various genomic approaches. We have several organisms undergoing whole genome sequencing, which continually builds up an in-house toolbox for comparative studies of transcriptomes, genome organization and the evolution of genomes.
