Koordinator av expertgrupperna för fjärilar och steklar. Ansvarar för projektet svenska vildbin. Björn är engagerad i faunavårdsfrågor rörande odlingslandskapet och skogen.

Involved in the work with the EU network of protected areas, Natura 2000, in the production of species information sheets on threatened invertebrates, and generally in spreading information to both local authorities the general public. Leader of a research project investigating the status and distribution of the Swedish wild bee species.
