Professor i naturvårdsbiologi, stf. chef och vetenskaplig ledare vid ArtDatabanken, chef för Program taxonomi vid ArtDatabanken samt föreståndare för Svenska LifeWatch.

Ansvarar för den vetenskapliga delen av Svenska artprojektet och arbetar även med rödlistning och relaterade artfrågor, både nationellt och internationellt. Ulf är medlem i internationella naturvårdsunionens Red List Standards and Petitions Subcommittee som bl.a. utarbetar riktlinjer för hur IUCN:s rödlistningskriterier ska tillämpas globalt. Ulf doktorerade 1986 vid Lunds universitet i systematisk zoolog på en avhandling om bladlusparasiterande steklar och blev docent i ekologi vid SLU 1998.

Professor of conservation biology, Deputy Director at the Swedish Species Information Centre (ArtDatabanken), Director of the Taxonomy Program at ArtDatabanken and Director of the Swedish LifeWatch consortium.

Responsible for the scientific part of the Swedish Taxonomy Initiative and works also with red-listing and related species issues. Ulf is a member of the IUCN Red List Standards and Petitions Subcommittee that developes global guidelines for the application of the IUCN Red List Criteria. He made his PhD in systematic zoology on wasps parasitizing aphids, and became Associate Professor (Docent) at SLU in 1998.
