Nordic-Baltic seminar on heritage interpretation - June 14 2013
The Swedish Centre for Nature Interpretation, together with The Nordic Cooperation Group for Nature Interpretation and The IRF Nordic-Baltic Forum for Nature Interpretation, invites to a full day seminar on the 14th of June.
Focus on the seminar is to discuss heritage interpretation in an international context. We will discuss what needs and possibilities there are for Nordic or Nordic-Baltic cooperation among interpreters. There will be presentations on interpretation from in all the participating countries. The seminar will include lectures by internationally known interpreters as Sam Ham as well as parallel workshops on for example interpretive planning and cooperation among interpreters. In the registration form there is the possibility to suggest issues to discuss in one of the workshops.
A detailed program will be published here in the beginning of 2013.
The seminar is held just before the international heritage interpretation conference in the nearby town Sigtuna 15-18 June. Read more about the Sigtuna conference here.
Aims of the seminar: to learn from internationally well-known interpreters through lectures as well as to discuss possibilities for cooperation within a Nordic-Baltic context.
Location: The seminar will take place in Uppsala, at Ultuna. The venue is Ateljén at Ulls väg 28.
Time: 14 June, from 10 am to 17 pm. After the seminar there will be a dinner.
Costs: 800 SEK + VAT/moms 25 %. This includes lunch as well as dinner in the evening after the seminar.
If you want to participate please register here.
Accomodation: Here is an overview over accomodation in Uppsala. There are good city bus connections from central Uppsala to Ultuna (about 17 minutes journey), where the seminar is, so an accomodation in central Uppsala works fine. In walking distance (about 1 km) from the venue there is hostel and hotel accomodation at Sunnersta herrgård. Make sure to book accomodation well ahead of the seminar.
