Impact of environmental pollutants on benthic diatoms
To meet the demands of the Swedish Environmental Objective 'A Non-Toxic Environment' and to screen streams and lakes for prioritized substances, there is a need to find indicators which can show the integrated effect of environmental pollutants such as heavy metals and pesticides. The aim of the current project is to test the possibility to develop the bioindicator freshwater benthic diatoms further to also include hazardeous substances.
