Education and specification
I have been granted with Doctoral degrees in 1989 at Tallinn University of Technology and in 2002 at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
According to classification of International Research Evaluation in 2010 my field of research is divided between:
(4) Natural Sciences and Engineering, § 4.2. Geosciences with attention to: Hydrology of surface waters and terrestrial wetlands - functioning, protection, restoration
and
(1) Biosciences and Environment, §1.8. Research relating to the State of the Environment and to Environmental Protection with attention to: hydrology of terrestrial waters and wetlands.
Field of expertise
Background education is an engineer of surface water hydrology. All working career was involved with terrestrial wetlands both with water bodies and peatlands. Since 1995 the main study objects were related to the wetlands/peatlands hydrology in any kind of management statues (e.g. peat cutting, forestry, restoration, conservation - except agriculture). The current research orientation is involved with study of peat body disturbances of the bogs, GIS monitoring and 3D modelling of peatlands.
