Conference on Communication and Environment
The 12th biennial Conference on Communication and Environment (COCE) will be held in Uppsala, Sweden from 6-10 June 2013. The conference is being co-hosted by the Division of Environmental Communication at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and Uppsala University’s Center for Sustainable Development (CSD) and the Cemus Research Forum (CEFO).
The Conference on Communication and Environment (COCE) has been held every other year since 1991. It was founded by academics and movement activists to provide a forum for those interested in sharing interdisciplinary research regarding historical and contemporary perspectives on environmental communication. After more than 20 successful COCE years, the International Environmental Communication Association (IECA) was created to provide a nexus for environmental communication professionals and supporters. IECA sponsors the professional journal Environmental Communication: A Journal of Nature and Culture, the biennial COCE, and promotes other educational and practical opportunities.
