Om Konstantinos Karantininis
Kostas Karantininis is a guest professor at the Department of Economics, SLU since 2009. He is on leave as Professor of the Economics of Agribusiness, Organizations & Cooperatives, at the University of Copenhagen, since 2002. He is also guest faculty at Wageningen University at MAICH and University of Perugia.
Research area
His research interests are in applied microeconomics, industrial organization and new institutional economics. His research focuses on the economics of agri-food industries in western and developing countries.
Teaching
He is teaching courses on agribusiness, microeconomic theory and new institutional economics.
He has supervised PHD students in Denmark, Africa, and Eastern Europe, and more than 30 MSC students.
Miscalleneous
Kostas will be chairing the 130th EAAE Seminar and coordinate the NOVA PhD course on The Empirics of Economic Organizations & Transaction Costs.
He is currently involved in projects in Africa on research and capacity building.
He is the co-editor of a book on cooperatives and has published in the Journal of Econometrics, the American Journal of Agricultural Economics (AJAE), The European Review of Agricultural Economics (ERAE), and other professional Journals. He is associate editor in the AJAE, the ERAE and JAFIO.
