Content of the programme
FOOD – Innovation and Market is a new master’s programme offered by the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences in conjunction with strong research groups in other national and foreign universities and with the industry. The two year master’s programme is open for students with a bachelor’s degree in natural or social sciences. Industrial experience from the food sector is an asset.
The programme is adjusted to each student’s background in a flexible course offer. Introduction and innovation management courses (inclusive sensory analysis, sustainability, health and ethics) are offered during the first year along with a project. During the second year students pick elective courses and carry out their master’s theses project.
The programme is based on a distance learning concept. Students meet at residency sessions each semester but the courses are mainly delivered on-line. The residency sessions and the meetings on-line are mandatory.
This international master’s programme provides theoretical courses as well as hands-on industry related projects offered in collaboration with stakeholders from the food sector.
