PhD student
I am a Phd student working on the project Climate change impacts on forest phenology and its implications on Swedish forest management. My supervisor is Prof- Urban Nilsson. My Asst-Supervisors are Associate prof- Johan Bergh and Associate Prof- Benjamin Smith (Lund university).  My nativity is Thottuva a small village on the banks of river Periyar, in Kerala, South of India.

My interests:
I am interested in Forest growth modeling. I focus on two forest models LPJ-GUESS and Heureka. LPJ-GUESS is a Dynamic Global Vegetation Model, which can simulate
potential vegetation. Heureka is a Swedish Forest model, which has good management implementation. Both of these models can take future climate scenarios. I am interested in analyzing the phonological pattern of tree species under climate change in future and how will it affect the Swedish forest management.

I am also interested in analyzing different forest growth model performance in a particular site, how much the predictions vary and why it is varying. In my master
thesis titled I was comparing the Net Primary Production (NPP) of Norway Spruce in Asa, Southern Sweden using two different forest growth models BIOMASS and 3-PG.
Both of these forest models are Process Based stand level models, but my results showed that the predictions vary around 10-40% according to different climate scenarios.

Currently I am trying to analyse the phenology of Norway spruce in Asa and Flakaliden using LPJ-GUESS model with my colleague Cecilia Olsson from Lund University.

I am interested in half marathon running, travelling and all sorts of outdoor activities. My newest charm is going for night drives, start from my home at around midnight and driving until early morning to see the night life and artificial night lights. I am also
learning Swedish language.

My History:
• Before my PhD I was doing Erasmus Mundus Masters in European Forestry from University of Eastern Finland and Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences.
• Before my master degree I was employed as Agricultural engineer in Royal Guard of Oman for 1,5 years.
• Before my employment I was a bachelor student Forestry in Forest College and Research Institute, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore, South India.
