Research
Research group:
Molecular Inflammation Research
Research interests:
To study the role of endogenous tissue-degrading enzymes in regulation of allergic airway inflammation using both in vivo models and cell cultures. Modulatory proteins of interest: mast cell proteases (chymase, tryptase, and carboxypeptidase), mast cell proteoglycan (serglycin) and glycosidases (chitinases and heparanase).
Projects:
1. Role of heparanase in experimental airway inflammation
2. Protective role of mast cell chymase in allergic airway inflammation
3. Studies of acidic mammalian chitinase - a possible marker of inflammation
