Research interests:
The main focus of our research is to imitate nature’s strongest material, spider silk, to gain basic knowledge about protein folding into fibers, with the aim to develop protein-based materials with various functions.
Projects:
1) Structural characterization of recombinant spider silk proteins and fiber formation thereof
2) Functionalisation of silk-based materials with specific protein functions
3) Functionalisation of silk-based scaffolds for cell culture and tissue engineering
