Current research/pågående forskning

Research area covers several aspects of infectious animal diseases: epidemiological studies, surveillance, biosecurity studies, disease modelling, modelling the spread of infectious agents, evaluation of control measures. Current research focuses on the Swedish situation but plans for international projects are underway.

Projects

• Strengthening the scientific basis for veterinary disease control/En sträkt vetenskaplig grund för veterinär sjukdomsberedskap. Project funded by Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency/Projektet finansieras av Myndigheten för Samhällsskydd och Beredskap. Collaboration with Linköping University & National Veterinary Institute/Samarbete med LiU, SVA och inom SLU.

• Increasing the cost-effectiveness of salmonella control in Swedish dairy herds/Kostnadseffektivisering av salmonellakontrollen i svenska mjölkbesättningar. Project funded by Swedish Farmers Foundation for Agricultural research/Projektet finansieras av Stiftelsen Svensk Lantbruksforskning. Collaboration with National Veterinary Institute/Samarbete med SVA.
• Sustainable livestock management with respect to animal transports and production systems: animal welfare and spread of disease/Hållbar djurhållning med avseende på djurtransporter och produktionssystem: djurskydd och smittskydd. Project funded by Formas/Projektet finansieras av Formas. Collaboration with Linköping University/Samarbete med LiU och inom SLU.
• Illustrating the effect of biosecurity measures for disease prevention/Illustration av effekt av smittskyddsåtgärder för sjukdomsprevention. Project funded by Swedish Board of Agriculture/Projektet finansieras av Jordbruksverket.
