På eftermiddagen 14-16.30 kommer det att följas av ett seminarium med ett antal intressanta föreläsningar

PhD student Thierry Pabiou will publicly defend his thesis:
“Genetics of carcass composition in Irish cattle exploiting carcass video image analysis”

Location: Auditorium “Loftet” at SLU ,Ultuna, Uppsala, Sweden
Thierry´s thesis includes studies on the use of carcass cut weights predicted from video image analysis for genetic improvement of carcasses of Irish cattle. The studies have been performed in cooperation between the Department of Animal Breeding and Genetics, SLU, the Irish Cattle Breeding Federation, and Teagasc – the Irish Agriculture and Food Development Authority. Professor Dorian Garrick from Iowa State University will be the external examiner.
After the dissertation a light lunch will be served.
