LEARN-konferens 21 november 2012
The Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science organized the second LEARN Conference on Wednesday the 21 November 2012. The theme for the conference was ”Sustainable Animal Production in the Baltic Sea Region”.
Approximately 90 people from companies, organizations and authorities came to the conference. The majority of the participants came from Sweden and about 20 participants came from other countries in the Baltic Sea drainage basin (Finland, Norway, Denmark, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia and Belarus). The participants from the Baltic States, Poland, Russia and Belarus could participate thanks to a grant from the Swedish Institute.
The conference started on the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences Ultuna campus and continued after lunch at the Swedish Livestock Research Centre, Uppsala-Lövsta. The morning programme was held in plenary and parallel sessions were held after lunch until the coffee break. After which a poster session, a tour of the Livestock Research Centre, a couple more plenary presentations and a panel debate with representatives from three companies took place. The conference ended with an Italian buffet dinner and possibilities for mingling. The programme for the conference and most presentations can be found here.
