Timber, energy or recreation? What is the best way to use this enormous resource?

VISIONS of what forestry should contribute to society have diversified greatly over the years and views on what is sustainable forest management are becoming increasingly complex. The role of forests and nature in safeguarding our living environment has grown in importance, resulting in a strong focus on how we can use and should manage this resource. At the same time demand for forest products such as timber, energy and recreation is also increasing.

This programme is given in as part of the Euroleague for Life Sciences (ELLS) network, a cooperation of leading universities in the fields of Natural Resource Management, Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Life Sciences, Veterinary Sciences, Food Sciences, and Environmental Sciences.  To read more about ELLS, visit http://www.euroleague-study.org/.
