Presentation

The focus of my PhD project is on implementing Next-generation sequencing of mammalian genomes for disease mapping in dogs and characterization of the Equine major histocompatibility complex.

Forskning

Focus of the current research is on sequencing and annotation of Equine major histocompatibility complex Class II region, which is of high interest for researchers studying equine diseases, animal welfare and immunogenetics.

Project requires preparation and handling of different short and long read Next-generation sequencing data (IonProton, Illumina, MinION, PacBio) and downstream bioinformatics analysis (ex, genome/transcriptome assembly, whole-genome re-alignment, annotation tools, etc.).
