Mål med min forskning:

To evaluate the effects of feeding microbes on the blood physiology, gut microbiota, feed digestion and stress response of farmed fish. Specific goals include replacing fish meal with yeast as a sustainable protein source and improving intestinal health by feeding probiotics to rainbow trout.

 

Forskningskompetens:

Research skills involved in this project include feed formulation, dorsal aorta cannulation, blood sampling, managing feed trials and laboratory analyses of stress factors, feed utilization and food safety aspects of salmonid fishes (i.e. rainbow trout and Arctic charr) fed alternative diets.
