The 5th Annual Animal Welfare Science Symposium was held in Uppsala in June 2022. The venue attracted 36 participants interested in Animal Welfare Science.
The programme included several short presentations from participants, primarily early stage researchers, as well as longer plenary talks from invited speakers.
The plenary speaker Oliver Burman (Professor of Animal Behaviour and Welfare at the University of Lincoln, UK) talked about assessing animal welfare while Laura Boyle (Senior research officer at Teagasc Animal and Grassland Research and Innovation Centre, Cork, Ireland.) talked about improving pig welfare.
