Formas grants 46 million SEK for research on organic production

On 29 November the research council Formas decided that twelve research projects would share 46 million SEK from the research programme for organic production.

Jan Bengtsson, Ecology, SLU, Uppsala, leads the largest project that is about how ecosystem services, biodiversity and agricultural ecosystem multifunctionality is affected by land use change after the conversion to organic production.

The second largest project is led by Birgitta Rämert, Plant Protection Biology, SLU Alnarp. The project involves the development of biological control strategies for organic cultivation of apple.Of the twelve projects that received grants are nine from SLU, one from Chalmers, one from the Royal Institute of Technology and one from Linköping University.
