Anna Skarin is a professor of reindeer husbandry since 1 August 2021. Her inauguration lecture has the title "En väldigt liten prick" – exploateringar i renbetesland.

Anna Skarin studies reindeer behaviour and their selection of grazing area. She also looks at the reindeer’s impact on vegetation. Anna asks the important question of how factors such as predators, wind turbines, mines and other forms of human activity can interfere with the reindeer's selection of grazing area, and in the long-term the production in reindeer husbandry. Data analysis of reindeer movements throughout the landscape is a key element of her research, as is obtaining knowledge in close collaboration with reindeer husbandry.
