SLU Landscape announces Call for forums (CFF)

Page reviewed:  09/12/2025

SLU Landscape invites researchers and teachers at the departments/units included in SLU Landscape to apply for funding to organize and run forums that focus on current issues in the landscape field.

The aim of the Call for Forums (CFF) is to strengthen collaboration, promote networking and create platforms for discussion on important future issues in the landscape field.

Through CFF, we want to build on the foundation laid by the previous Call for Ideas (CFI), but with a clearer focus on supporting established networks and stimulate broader collaboration both internally within SLU and externally in order to further consolidate SLU's position as one of Europe's leading research and education environments in the landscape field.

Who can apply?

• The call is aimed at staff at departments and units that are active within the SLU Landscape platform.

What are the requirements?

• At least two SLU Landscape departments/units must participate in the forum.

• The theme of a forum can vary but should be justified as relevant to SLU Landscape. The focus can vary and it be research-oriented, practice-oriented or about teaching. It can also be a combination of these.

• Idea and justification for why the proposed forum is important for SLU Landscape (max 500 words).

• Overall short- and long-term goals (expected results) (max 300 words).

• An activity plan (per year) in which the applicant describes what is specifically planned to achieve the forum's objectives

• A budget (per year).

• The call covers a total of SEK 300 000 to be distributed among 5–7CFFs per year.
• Note that salaries will not be financed.
• A forum can exist for more than one year, depending on the topicand focus, but any extension will be considered by the steeringcommittee each year based on the annual activity plan and budget.

Assessment criteria

-Strategic relevance for SLU Landscape

• Position SLU Landscape in the larger thematic and external context in which the forum operates.

-Collaboration

• The forum shows through its proposed activities that it contributes to increased collaboration and exchange between SLU Landscape units.

Proposals for new CFFs and applications for extension of existing ones should be submitted to the SLU Landscape Steering Group (emma.butler@slu.se) by December 15.
