Political Science and Natural Resource Governance

At the Division of Political Science and Natural Resource Governance, research, education, communication, and collaboration are conducted in several different fields, all united by a common interest in how society addresses and manages the challenges posed by environmental and sustainability issues.

Researchers, analysts, and environmental advisors work here, and the activities span many areas within both natural and social sciences.

The department is also home to the SLU Swedish Biodiversity Centre (CBM) – a national center conducting research, collaboration, expert analyses, and information activities related to biodiversity.

In addition, the department hosts Sida’s Helpdesk for Environment and Climate Change, a collaboration between Sida, the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU), and the University of Gothenburg. Its purpose is to support the integration of environmental issues into Swedish development cooperation.
