We are delighted to announce that the following guest speakers will be presenting at the seminar:

Siobhan Mullan is a veterinary surgeon and Professor at University College Dublin, her research focus on the intersection of animal welfare with other societal priorities such as environmental concerns and how these play out in policy formation. She is also the Coordinator of the TransformDairyNet EU Project, which aims to promote systems where dairy calves stay with their mothers for a prolonged period after birth.

Joao Costa is an Associate Professor at the University of Vermont, his research centers on calf nutrition, animal welfare, precision livestock farming and management based on data. For the last decade, his research group has evaluated calf behaviour and cognition development in a myriad of social environments, including cow–calf contact systems, in collaboration with several research groups and farms across North America.

Janina van der Drift is the founder of Kalverliefde, a Dutch dairy brand built on the principle of keeping cows and calves together. By connecting consumer interest with pioneering farmers, she works to make cow-calf contact dairy a commercially viable choice.
