Meet SLU during the politicians’ week in Almedalen

Last changed: 26 May 2017

For the eighth year in a row SLU hosts seminars in Visby, Gotland, during the Almedalen "politicians’ week", July 2-9. The SLU seminars take place on July 4, 5 and 6.

The seminars will highlight several issues where research results can be the starting point for political discussions. Which roles will Sweden's forests have in the future? A Swedish food strategy has been launched, and some counties produce regional versions – will they increase food production in Sweden? Can cooperation between animal and human health care reduce the problem of antibiotic resistance? Is the GMO legislation in EU a barrier to Sweden's food strategy? How do we make young entrepreneurs interested in the bio-based economy? How can rural areas benefit from globalization? How can a landscape perspective help tackle 21st century urban challenges? These are some of the issues raised by SLU during the Almedal Week this year.
