Anders Herlin, building function, livestock housing

Last changed: 11 October 2019

Anders Herlin is an expert on building function with specialisation in livestock housing and ambient environment.

My aim is to design animal housing and management where the animals are allowed to express natural behaviour in a production context where we ensure sustainability for man and the environment.

Animal production today needs to combine animal welfare standards in coherence with ethical values of our society but also being efficient and profitable.

I want to develop building function of animal houses according to the natural behaviour and needs of the animal and thus improve animal welfare. My research interest is mainly on the important details in the design of the animal environment, but also the design of whole systems for the production of meat and milk.
