Official Language

The language of the seminar is English.

Badges

The participant name badge will be provided at the registration desk. All participants are requested to wear the badge throughout the seminar. Only badge holders will be admitted to the sessions.

Time zone

Sweden is in the Central European Time zone.

Climate and Clothing

It is late summer/early autum in Uppsala in September and the temperatures can vary from 8 to 20 °C. Please note there may be occasional showers.

Passport and Visas

Delegates are advised to contact the nearest embassy, consulate or travel agency for information about the passport and visa requirements from their country for entry to Sweden. For invitaiton letters to obtain a visa, please contact Academic Conferences.

Local Currency

The Swedish monetary unit is the Swedish krona (SEK). In November 2016; Euro 1=SEK 10, USD 1=SEK 9, GBP 1=SEK 11. Major credit cards are accepted almost everywhere. There are several currency exchange offices and cash dispensers at Stockholm Arlanda International Airport and in Uppsala. Exchange rates may vary. Business hours & shopping

Shops are open between 10.00 and 18.00 hrs on weekdays and from 10.00 to 15.00 on Saturdays. Shops in the city center have extended opening hours, some even on Sundays between 12.00 and 16.00 hrs.

Public transport

Arlanda Airport to Stockholm

A high-speed train called Arlanda Express runs non-stop between Stockholm and Arlanda in 20 minutes. If you are travelling from Arlanda to Stockholm, you can buy your ticket at the airport’s information desks or using the Arlanda Express self-service machines. Price: Adult one way 280 SEK, Return ticket 530 SEK (Prices as per November 2016). Clarion Hotel Sign is a five minute walk away from Stockholm Central Station.

Smoking policy

Sweden has a non-smoking policy, i.e. smoking is prohibited in public buildings, public transport, taxis, buses and trains.

Electricity

In Sweden the electrical voltage used is 220/230V.

Force Majeure

The organisers are not liable for any claims for damages and/or losses if the entire conference has to be cancelled due to a force majeure incident.

The organisers are not liable for damages and/or losses of any kind which may be incurred by the conference delegates or by any other individuals accompanying them, both during the official activities as well as going to/from the conference. Delegates are responsible for their own safety and belongings.

Insurance and Vaccinations

The registration fee does not cover insurance for the delegates. The organisers recommend that delegates take out insurance in their home country to cover pre-journey cancellation for personal reasons and necessary insurance to cover accidents, medical expenses and loss of personal belongings during the visit. No vaccinations are needed when visiting Sweden.
