I graduated in biology at Universidad Complutense de Madrid (major zoology), got my PhD at the University of Otago in New Zealand, and have worked in several postdoctoral research projects. I have worked in industry and academia, and I have always tried to make the most 'here and there' to satisfy my vocation for nature and science in spite of some demanding implications (always hitting the books, strenuous indoor working days, dealing with other 'wildlife' in addition to animals...). As a result of the experience and expertise gained on the way, I currently combine a multidisciplinary and innovative research portfolio that includes ecology and geospatial sciences. My interests go beyond taxa, although my leitmotiv has always been predators, including mammalian carnivores and raptors. I have mostly worked at different levels on the ecology of invasive and native species in different countries. I am continuously looking for relevant questions involving local and global environmental changes, methodological approaches, species conservation, control, restoration, and management. I tend to tackle these questions using approaches based on spatial ecology, including animal movement behaviour, habitat selection, and species distribution. Before I lose my touch, I will be keen to learn and apply new challenging and interesting research approaches to contribute to solve environmental problems; and of course, for the sake of continuing satisfying that mentioned never-failing vocation and curiosity for nature and science.


Currently working in Scandulv (Scandinavian wolf research project). My research focuses on several aspects on the spatial ecology of recolonizing wolves in Scandinavia as well as the trophic ecology of the species.
