I completed my BSc degree with a major in forest management at the Poznan University of Life Sciences (Poland). I continued my undergraduate education at the Southern Swedish Forest Research Centre (Alnarp), where I entered the “Euroforester” MSc programme. My MSc thesis focused on knot properties of Lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta) sawn boards from unthinned stands planted in different initial spacings. After completing my MSc degree, I worked for the Polish National State Forests, where I was mostly involved in Scots pine silviculture. Most recently, I started my PhD project within the FRAS “future silviculture in southern Sweden” research program. More precisely, I am looking at the Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris) regeneration in Southern Sweden. The project aims to examine different regeneration methods i.e. natural regeneration, sowing and planting in order to achieve fast and secure Scots pine establishment. My research puts also a strong emphasis on the effects of different shelter wood densities, soil scarification methods and browsing on Scots pine regeneration. The project is under the supervision of Prof.Urban Nilsson (SLU), Prof.Göran Örlander(Södra), Dr. Kristina Wallertz (SLU), Docent Anna Jensen (Linnaeus University) and Dr.Märtha Wallgren (Skogforsk).
