Riccardo Bommarco

Professor in Agricultural Entomology at the Department of Ecology. I perform research on insect and plant ecology in agricultural landscapes, and how it influences plant protection, pollination and yield of agricultural crops. I design sustainable cropping systems in collaboration with researchers and stakeholders.

Research

I investigate how cultivation and land use in agriculture affect biodiversity with a focus on insects and plants that provide ecosystem services. I work with crop protection, biological regulation of pests, pollination and crop yield. I participate in the development of sustainable farming systems in a destabilized climate.
