Erika Roman

Erika Roman joined AFB in 2019 as professor of domestic animal neurophysiology. Her research concerns behavioral neuroscience and, more specifically, individual differences in behavior and the role of personality linked to underlying neurochemistry. She also conducts studies in experimental refinement (one of the 3Rs), among other things, to increase knowledge about the effects of isolation. At AFB, she teaches anatomy and physiology of the nervous system and sensory organs in undergraduate programs and also plans for postgraduate courses on behavioral studies. Erika has a PhD in Pharmaceutical Pharmacology from the Faculty of Pharmacy at Uppsala University in 2004. She became a lecturer in Neurobiological Behavioral Pharmacology in 2010 and has worked as an Associate Professor of Behavioral Pharmacology at the Faculty of Pharmacy, Uppsala University. Erika is very interested in animals and nature and in autumn times she likes to pick mushrooms.
