Nina Känsälä

Last changed: 22 April 2021

Nina Känsälä started as a research student at half-time in January 2019, with Anna Jansson as supervisor. The theme of the research is sustainable horse welfare from a equestrian perspective. Before Nina started as a research student, she completed a SLU master's in "animal science" in 2018 with a focus on equine welfare. She is a hippologist, equestrian teacher level III, and B-trainer in dressage. In parallel with her research, Nina continues to work at Lövsta Stuteri, where she has worked since 2013. The focus of the work is on breeding and sports as well as bringing them closer together. This is also her desire for the academic world and the horse industry - to have them meet for rewarding cross fertilization. In her spare time, Nina is involved as a board member of the Swedish Warmblood Association (SWB). The rest of the free time there will be even more horse with the family and their own horses.
