Multi-criteria analysis for identifying sustainable soil remediation alternatives

Last changed: 08 July 2021

The project 'Multi-criteria analysis for identifying sustainable remediation alternatives' started in 2010 and ended in 2013.

The overall objective of this project was to develop a procedure for multi-criteria analysis, MCA, which can be practically applied for sustainability appraisal of soil remediation alternatives.

Specific goals were to:

  1. Incorporate effects on soil system functions for evaluating ecological sustainability
  2. Prepare a prototype for MCA for identifying sustainable remediation alternatives.

This project provided novel research on how to better incorporate ecological effects in sustainability appraisal at contaminated sites.
