Establishment and management methods for meadow vegetation
The aim of the project is to produce a synthesis on establishment and management methods for constructed meadows. The purposes of the project are to gather the existing knowledge on the subject and to promote sustainable development through the use of native plant diversity in a variety of contexts.
Sustainable development relies on the occurrence of native biological diversity. Meadow vegetation is one of the most species rich habitats in Sweden and therefore of special interest and importance. The conservation and reintroduction of the meadow plant diversity can be crucial for the sustainability of other ecosystem services, essential for e.g. agriculture. The outcome of this project is of importance in the design and planning of tomorrow’s urban and rural landscape. This project is also a starting point where urban and rural research areas meet.
The project is financed by KSLA (2015-2016)
