Journal of Forest Economics is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published the first time in 1995.

 Journal of Forest Economics (JFE) is owned and edited by the Department of Forest Economcis, at the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences, Umeå. Elsevier is publishing the journal.

Four issues are pubished each year. It is ranked as number 78 of 245 within the economics field and number 20 out of 45 withint the the forestry field.

The journal has offered the department a solid ground for collaborations with forest economists from all over the world.

The journal publishes papers in forest economics, forthmost with focus on management problems or forest industry analysis. 

Every other year, the journal together with the Department of Forest Economics, awards the best paper a price in the memory of the late Professor Sören Wibe.
