Upcoming doctoral defences in FRAS
The research program FRAS, "future silviculture in southern Sweden", is a co-operation between SLU, Skogforsk and the Linné University. The main core of the program is 6 new PhD-students that will be employed during 2017. The 6 projects will target different silvicultural aspects during the stand rotation and include the tree main tree species in Swedish forestry, Norway spruce, Scots pine and birch. Communication with the forest sector is an important part of the research program.

Research school "Bioeconomy-adapted forest management" is a joint initiative of the Faculty of Forest Sciences at Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) and representatives of major employers in Swedish forest sector. The overarching goal of the research school is to secure the future competence supply for the Swedish forest-based bioeconomy.
