Exchange possibilities Forest Science

If you are ambitious and eager to broaden your knowledge in the field of forest science, SLU offers a wide range of opportunities to go abroad. Currently SLU has more than 50 valid agreements with the universities that offer courses in the field of forest science. Notice, that in order to be able to apply for exchange studies you have to be a full time student at SLU.

An opportunity to study at NC State University
There is a unique opportunity to study at the department of Forestry and Environmental Resources of North Carolina State University, for both master (short-term) and PhD (long-term) students. Gunnar and Lillian Nicholson Graduate Fellowship and Faculty Exchange Fund offer this opportunity. The aim of this exchange fund is to enhance scholarly exchange among Swedish and NC State University students.

NC State University

For master students, in order to be eligible for this exchange program, you have to be a full time program student at SLU.

PhD students have an opportunity to go for both, short term and long term exchange. Short-term applicants can study or do research (or a combination of both) at NC State University from 10 weeks to 6 months, while applicants who apply for a long-term exchange (successful applicants), can get funding for a period of up to four years to earn a PhD degree.
