Student union

Like all students in Sweden, those at SLU can join a student union. At SLU there are eight different student unions, and students can choose one depending on their programme. Forestry students have several options. The Alnarp-based student union is called ASK (Alnarps studentkår).

Besides ASK, there is a student union in Umeå called Skogshögskolans Studentkår . You don't need to study in Umeå to join, but becoming a member gives you a chance to visit "the northern capital" and join some events there. Joining this union automatically makes you a member of IFSA (International Forestry Students´ Association). Members of this union are eligible to apply for funding to travel to events organized by IFSA or to cover fieldwork costs. To find out more, visit their website.
