In our research, we analyze various aspects of forest planning. Estate-level forest planning is combined with a landscape perspective and related to factors determined by national forest policies. Both the bio-physical and socio-economic components of the landscape are considered. Risk analysis is a continuous theme. Application and analysis of spatial data is an important methodological tool. A growing area of research is comparative analysis of forest policy in different countries. Links to various international processes like climate negotiations and land-use change are increasingly important targets of our research.
