From here to eternity - New research project on how the Law on Grave Peace is Interpreted in Practice

Published: 22 November 2023

Helena Nord, Professor of Landscape architecture, has been granted funding from Formas Open Call, for the project "From Here to Eternity: A Study of how the Peace of the Grave is Interpreted in Practice".

The purpose of the 3-year project is to examine how society can meet the future need for more burial ground space - for example, by reusing existing burial plots. The project addresses questions about perpetual grave peace and how cemeteries can be developed without conflicting with current laws. Particpating in the study is also Cristina Prytz, researcher at Division of Agrarian History.
