Landscape Architecture - Master's Programme

Country: Indonesia

Why did I choose SLU?

- First, I chose to study in Sweden because it is one of the leading countries in sustainability, and I want to learn by actually applying these principles in real life. Although my background is in Architecture, I have experience working in the landscape architecture field, so I would like to focus on this subject. I chose to study Landscape Architecture at SLU because it offers the courses that I am interested in, such as design, GIS, infrastructure, and large-scale landscape.

What am I studying?

- Landscape Architecture goes beyond creating a pretty garden; it integrates various fields, topics, and expertise to design spaces that benefit both people and the environment in outdoor settings. These spaces can include gardens, forests, waterfronts, infrastructure, or even energy landscapes!

What is the best about the SLU campus?

- It was a bit shocking to me when I first arrived in Alnarp because the campus is small, quiet, and surrounded by a forest, although it is only 20 minutes away from the bustling city of Malmö. However, as time went on, I began to adapt, and now I love being in such a peaceful environment! It is perfect for living and studying because of the serene forest, allowing me to focus. Yet, it is not far from the city, making it easy to access basic lifestyle amenities. The people here are so nice and friendly; I am always treated equally and respectfully. I am very happy and relieved!
