Conservation biology

The course combines theoretical and practical components and includes lectures, practical exercises, seminars and project work. In computer exercises the students will be able to apply and deepen their knowledge. In seminars scientific understanding, critical reviewing and critical thinking is trained. Mandatory components are seminars and project work.


The course gives the student knowledge that is needed for future work in the conservation biology sector as well as for future academic studies. The course focuses on 1) the scientific basis for conservation biology, 2) the ecological theories that are used in conservation biology, 3) global biodiversity and global threats, 4) different perspectives held by different parties in conservation biology work.

Välkommen till kursen i Naturvårdsbiologi!

Vi ses den 16/1 kl 10.00 i F-salen på Ekologicentrum. På Ekologicentrum kommer vi ha de flesta föreläsningarna, övningarna och arbetena.

Som vanligt kommer den litteratur vi arbetar med liksom extra litteratur, mediatips och andra användbara resurser läggas upp på Canvas. Håll ett öga på Canvas, anslag kommer kontinuerligt med uppdaterad info. Ta som vana att antingen kolla sidan en gång per dag eller ha 'push notice' på så du ser nytt som händer där.
